This golf story is a bit different from my usual books. I originally wrote it just for fun, to show what the game of golf looks like to a typical golf ball. It came out so funny that I decided to share it here.
Why your Golf Ball Gets Cranky will appeal to older students and also to adults who need an entertaining book with a simple vocabulary. Since I’m seeing more and more young kids playing golf, this story may be a hit with them as well. Anybody who has played golf or watched a game will find it hilarious!
The artwork is original, and was created by combining photos with a very annoyed cartoon golf ball As the innocent ball finds out that golf is really scary when a fellow with a club keeps hitting you, you’ll feel real sympathy for the little guy. You’ll certainly understand why that ball refuses to go into the hole. I’ve also used lots of sound effects to bring the story to life.
Play Sounds On iPad
I’m particularly excited about the online version, because you will be able to hear those sounds when you read the book on iPad®. However, remember that iPad will not automatically play sounds, so be sure to touch the Play Sound button.
Audible Text In An Online Book
The online version of the golf story is an experiment with audible text. I don’t know a way to have each word highlight as the text reads out, but I have been able to have it read out one sentence at a time. Look for a small speaker button beside each sentence.
